Do you know the symptoms of glaucoma? This can be a trick question because there are typically no symptoms of certain types of glaucoma in the early stages (open-angle glaucoma and normal-tension glaucoma). In fact, by the time you are experiencing changes in your vision due to glaucoma (blind spots in peripheral vision, difficulty with central vision) you may already have irreversible vision damage.

The exception is acute angle-closure glaucoma: these symptoms come on suddenly and include severe headaches, eye pain, blurry vision, halos around lights and even nausea or vomiting. This is a medical emergency and treatment is needed as soon as possible.

If your New Year’s resolution is to stop vaping, here’s another compelling reason to SEE this resolution through: the chemicals in vaping not only harm your lungs and overall health but can also significantly impact your eyes.
